David joined HCRFM in 2004 making the transition from Hinchinbrooke Hospital Radio, where his programmes feature hits of the last 50 years, and archive material from the 20's and 30's and the cream of Broadway, cinema and television music.

David works in a "communications" role in London and has a lot of experience in press and public relations, and has filmed news features with Yorkshire, Anglia, Tyne-Tees, Border, Thames, LWT and Carlton TV, as well made specialist programmes for UK Living and Pro-Seiben (a German TV network). In the 70's he produced several editions of Platform BBC Radio Londons' community affairs programme. This year 2007, he has appeared as an "expert" on weight and diet issues on BBC News 24, and considering since 1998 he has lost 15 stones in weight, we think he is well qualified!

At HCR he presents some Through The Nights, and since 2005 a Saturday night special with Scott Andrews featuring the cream of music from films and shows, which is returning in 2007. David edits HCR's community programme Over to You going out Monday to Friday in both weeks from 7pm until 8pm, presented by Bill Hensley and Scott Pheby, in a new dedicated slot after Drivetime. A wide range of community leaders and smaller groups have access to our airwaves venting their concerns and broadcasting news of their activities. Many of these group like HCRFM rely on volunteers, so if you have time to spare and want to giver something back to the community, listen out for various volunteering opportunities. If you wish to know more about Over to You please click here, or here to see who's on air when. For the second year running, David is training a group of 6th formers who will be shown how to research and write scripts and produce segments of Over To You and other key HCRFM programmes. Chris Gidman a returning student has earned promotion and will assist with HCRFM's arts and events programme on Fridays from 8pm until 10pm see under Spotlight.

David also writes for television history website Transdiffusion and for magazines including The Oldie. This year the BBC invited David to meet Sir Patrick Moore who has presented The Sky At Night on BBC TV (BBC1, BBC and now BBC4) for over 50 years. "It was a great priviledge to be personally invited by BBC producers, to spend time with Sir Patrick in the dignity of his own home near Selsey Bill in West Sussex. I enjoyed a great three or four hours and endless cups of tea, reminiscing with one of broadcastings' great legends" The interview with Sir Patrick is published in three parts, and for those interested, see here : http://www.transdiffusion.org/emc/tvheroes/patrickmoore/sir_patrick_moore_-_i.php

David enjoys living in Cambridgeshire and chose Huntingdon as his home town over four years ago, and would like to see a full-time community radio station along the lines of HCRFM for Huntingdon and the surrounding area, as a permanent feature of local life.

Favourite foods: Fresh vegetable soups, brown bread, mashed potato, bananas, pineapples, pears, and fruit yoghurt. Dieting, but occasional sins include assorted crisps and wine gums.
