David Potter

With the likes of seasoned broadcasters such as Bill Hensley & Ray Godby, David is very much the "apprentice" at HCR. Living in St Ives with his wife, Michele and two boys, Michael & Andrew, his time is always in demand. Involved with youth football at St Ives Rangers, he looks after one Colts team and assists with the coaching of another.

A keen interest in radio, developed into an unhealthy passion with the arrival in the North Sea of Laser 558, an American pirate station in the 80's. (Being far too young to remember the golden days of the pirates, unlike many others at HCR!)) This then expanded with a visit to The Ross Revenge, home of Radio Caroline and David subsequently got involved in Hospital Radio, at Hinchingbrooke, and then HCR 87.7FM.

He describes his favourite food as fish and chips, eaten from the paper, at the seaside. The only sport he really shows any interest in is, surprise surprise, football with a wish to see Cambridge United do well. Dire Straits, Sultans of Swing has to be an all time favourite tune, and somewhere in his tiny mind is a desire to play his electric guitar competently and learn to ride a unicycle (not at the same time apparently - well not this year anyway).
