Paxfest & Fun Dog Show

Little Paxton

Paxfest is the annual village fete which takes place on second Saturday in July.
Come along to a FREE afternoon of family fun.

Lots of stalls – BBQ, Beer tent, refreshments, games, face painting, children’s craft activities, Magic Shows, Connections Bus and musical entertainment and lots more.

It will be animals galore with the Wildlife Mini Zoo with Meekats, Snakes, Lizards, Spiders, Scorpions, Hissing cockroaches, Giant snail and other furries. Rabbits and guinea pigs will be there too. There will be an interactive area with hands on opportunities.

The Ark Farm is a mobile educational farm and will be bringing along Sheep (or lambs if available), pigs ( or piglets if available) , ducks, geese, chickens, a goat and a cow. Lots of hands on opportunities with two qualified adults.

Donkey Rides
Mikes Donkeys will provide two beautful donkeys for children to ride. Age & height restrictions apply. Helmets provided.

Fun Dog Show Classes 2019
The Fun Dog Show will start at 1pm. There will be a 30 min break in the Fun Dog Show at 3pm. There are over 10 new classes for the dog show – time for a change so its out with the old and in with the new.

Registration is on the day and is £1.50 per dog per class.
On the day there will be a dog measuring chart for Small, Medium and Large Dogs to help owners decide which class best suits their dogs.

There is no restriction on the number of classes a dog can enter. The winner of each class has entry to the Championship Class.

Show Competitions

he adult’s cake competition is to bake a Victoria Sponge Cake.

The children’s competition is to bake & decorate cup cakes (minimum 6) – no theme.
Competition rules
All cakes to be edible. No fresh cream to be used. Entry and payment on the day. Cakes to be delivered to Little Paxton Village Hall between 10.30m and 11.30am.
All competition cakes will be cut up and everyone offered a slice of cake.
Lots of great prizes including a cake shield trophy.

Handicraft- I made that!
New for Paxfest 2019 is a ‘Handicraft competition’- any form of art or craft with an animal theme. Crafts can include paintings, a model, embroidery, pottery, picture, cuddly toy…

Entry on the day Adults £1.00 . Children 50p Great prizes.

Competition rules – Must be home made.

Crafts to be delivered to Little Paxton Village Hall between 10.30m and 11.30am.

Little Paxton Rocks 2019

Childrens’ competition to decorate a rock with an animal theme. Three age groups –

Age group 1 – School year Foundation, Yr 1, Yr 2

Age group 2 – School year Yr 3 & Yr 4

Age group 3 – School year Yr 5 & Yr 6

Free entry. Rocks to be delivered to the Village Hall on Paxfest day by 12 noon.
Car Parking
Concerns have been raised regarding parking in the village hall car park on Paxfest day. Passes will now be issued for village hall car parking spaces with each pass having an allocated parking space- this will be mainly for entertainers and musicians for the event.

Stallholders will be issued with a field lay out prior to accessing the field to reduce traffic queues on the High Street. This will ensure a quicker access onto the field.

Stallholders will be issued with a pass to park on the QEII Playing field.

There will be NO public parking in the village hall car park.

The Paxfest Committee would like to encourage residents to leave their cars at home and walk/cycle or scoot to the event.

If you are visiting Little Paxton for Paxfest, please park on streets near the High Street (not on street corners)
