Huntsford Soap
“Good morning, Wavelengths salon, can I help you?” the first words, in the first episode of Huntsford. Hairdresser Sandra launched her own salon in the fictional town of Huntsford: the name given to the stations’ soap drama. Listeners will be able to check in on the lives of Sandra a divorcee, her stylists, trainee Tanya, her children Holly and Harry, the people who work in the local shopping mall, including nosy Maggie owner of Ye Olde Sweet Shop next door and her assistant Ben, and customers including smooth local mechanic Rick.

Background & Details
You can enjoy Huntsford daily on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 10.20am with a repeat at 4.20pm. An omnibus edition will be played out again at 4pm on Sundays in the magazine show Sunday Supplement, and also available to listen again online - see below. We are the only community radio station to have a soap opera on air, and with HCR104fm available anywhere on line, this is also a NEW soap available around the world. Locating the soap in a town like Huntingdon, called Huntsford and the setting; a hair-dressing salon Wavelengths, was two years in the making.
The salon is called Wavelengths (suited to both hair and radio), and the HCR104fm “in-house” drama team is known as Wavelength Productions. The whole project is managed and directed by Scott Andrews, with early episodes produced by Richard Farrar, and now produced by Mick White from St Ives. The theme music has been specially composed by Nick Thompson.
Behind the microphone a dedicated team of actors and writers, (some used to stage work), most new to radio drama, has contributed individually a huge amount of passion, commitment and time, to make Huntsford the success it has already become. “We are quite shocked at the quality we feel we have achieved. Its hard work but we hope the public like it, and feel that our effort is worthwhile."
The next project is stories for under 5's - coming soon - Dorethea and her magic jeans that let her talk to machines, and also "Accidental Johnny".
