Tony's single of the week hits the top spot!
Week commencing 19th March 2012, our musical director, Tony Obee, selected his single of the week to be Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen and on Sunday 8th April at 7pm it had taken the number 1 spot in the official UK charts!
Carly Rae Jepsen released her newest single, Call Me Maybe, in the UK on the 30th March and the single has been labelled as the second fastest selling single of 2012 to date with a week 1 opening sale of nearly 107,000 copies.
It's not the first time Tony has "sniffed" out a winning single of the week, as week commencing 30th January Tony picked Gotye's smash hit single 'Somebody That I Used To Know' to be our single of the week just weeks before it climbed to the number 1 position!
We think this is a pretty good achievement for a community station like ourselves and we thank Tony for all the hard work he puts in to selecting the music you hear everyday on HCR104fm.
