Scott Pheby

Scott-PhebyI was born in Bermondsey, South London in 1966.  My family came to live in Bluntisham when I was 6. I met my future wife only five years later when we both started secondary school in Ramsey, but we waited until we were 24 to get married! We are approaching our 22nd wedding anniversary and have two teenage children.

I qualified as an accountant in 1992, and have managed my own practice near Huntingdon for more than 20 years. Phebys Accountants sponsor Over To You, which you can hear on Mondays to Fridays from 7 til 8pm and I present Monday’s edition.

I’ve always loved music and share that love with my family. Our house contains a piano, a drum kit, two acoustic guitars, two electric guitars, two bass guitars, a ukulele and a harmonica, a few of which I can actually play. I am also a member of Pidley Male Voice Choir (we meet from 8 til 10pm on a Tuesday evening at Pidley Village Hall if you’re interested). I enjoy the occasional round of golf, but I don’t seem to be improving!

I like most types of music, in particular, Bruce Springsteen, Joan Armatrading, Bob Dylan and Fleet Foxes. I’ve been lucky enough to see Bruce a number of times in concert, including in his own backyard in New Jersey. I enjoy attending concerts with friends and family – I’ve recently seen Elvis Costello and the Red Hot Chili Peppers and in the next few weeks will be seeing Elbow, Laura Marling, Richard Hawley, Billy Bragg and Rush.

What would be your idea of a perfect day?

Any Sunday; lazy morning reading the papers, cooking the perfect Sunday roast, time with the family, a sneaky siesta and an old black and white movie.

What would be a nightmare day?

When Chelsea lose, but that doesn’t happen very often!

What 3 words best sum you up?

Pie and mash.
