This weekend in the racing world the Coral Eclipse took centre stage, this is usually aimed at horses that have run in the Derby and Guineas and that form come together. Its ran over a mile and 2f and the favourite was the Derby second Cliffs of Moher and second favourite was Barney Roy who finished second in the Guineas and won at Royal Ascot. The winner however was Ulysses at 8/1 trained by Sir Michael Stoute and ridden by champion jockey Jim Crowley who took the lead in side the final furlong to hang on from the tough Barney Roy who was beaten a nose.

The July meeting starts Thursday and the return of the great Frankie Dettori who will be back in the saddle on Thursday after having around 3-4 weeks off with a shoulder injury that he sustained the injury at Yarmouth races. He missed Royal Ascot in which he would have been on the at least 6 winner including Lady Aurelia and Big Orange.
