Bill Hensley is our Station Manager, and has been the driving force behind getting Huntingdon Community Radio on air full-time, "it's taken 16 years, but we've done it, and I might be a bit biased but I think it sounds great" says Bill "what a great team of people, they are a privilege to work with".
Bill is also involved with the Community in many other ways, as a Parish Councillor for Warboys, Vice Chairman of the Sea Cadets, Huntingdon Town Councillor, a director of the Red Tile Windfarm Trust, Chairman of Hospital Radio Hinchingbrooke, Chairman of the Huntingdonshire Society, Chairman of the Huntingdon & District Sea Cadets and a Trustee of the Huntingdon Commemoration Hall, in his spare time he enjoys cooking, logging, off-roading and watching snooker.
On Thursday 10th May 2012 Bill was elected as Deputy Mayor of Huntingdon for 2012/13. Bill will be deputy to Mayor and Councillor Colin Hyams who described the position to be an honour and a privilege after taking over from outgoing Mayor Alan Mackender Lawrence. Their year in office, for both Colin and Bill, looks to be an interesting one with the Queen's Diamond Jubliee celebrations and the Olympic Torch relay heading this way.
Radio has been the love of his life, and having succeeded in getting a full-time radio station for Huntingdon, and 'in a shop window' at the Saxongate complex, has achieved his ambition.
