Ed is a student at Cambridge Regional College currently studying Radio and is enjoying it very much. 17 years old and born in Norwich Norfolk, first found out he wanted to work in “Media” when at Drayton Middle School, Norfolk when interviewed by BBC Radio Norfolk about the importance of water in schools.
Later at Wymondham College, Norfolk, while in Year 10, he realised the potential of setting up a radio station in the school and helped teachers set up Radio Wym, which is still going strong. Ed did a weekly college sport show for eighteen months, and also become involved in a BBC Schools review project.
After discovering HCRfm, Ed landed a “Thought for the Week” slot on Sunday Supplement show, during the 2008 broadcast. This experience helped Ed gain a place at Cambridge Regional College and he has got off to a great start, including doing a broadcast on BBC Radio Cambridge.
Edward is now part of the student group at HCRfm and has done a number of Shows for Cambridge Regional College at www.camre.ac.uk/coreradio. Ed is the sports presenter on HCRfm’s The Student Zone and will cover local and national sports news, and plans to make occasional sport podcasts for the station.
