Kelvin Taber
After leaving St Peters school Huntingdon at the age of 16, Kelvin started as a Roadie/DJ for Steve Allan entertainments in Peterborough, moving onto hospital radio at Hinchingbrooke, doing a couple of shows each week. He met Bill Hensley station manager at the time and was invited to do a show on HCRfm. This was the very first Restricted Service Licence (RSL), and with a big grin on my face said "Yes". Realizing there was more to this radio lark than meets the eye, decided to attend BBC Radio 1 presenter Bruno Brookes radio school, where Kelvin learnt the real art of script writing and presenting. On completing this he sent out demo tapes, and was contacted by Hereward Radio, where Chris Pegg the programme controller decided to teach him more aspects of radio, and spent the next year under his wing.
Kelvin took his experiences to a Los Angeles FM Internet radio station called IRadio LA.com, presenting a show once a week for over a year. For the last 14 years on HCRfm, Kelvin has covered many slots, from the breakfast show, afternoon show and then to drive time.
