Scott Andrews

Scott was born in Bedford in 1969 and has lived in Cambridgeshire since 1976. He moved to Huntingdon in 1992 and has lived here ever since. Scott is a self employed fully qualified Management Accountant providing Management Accounting and consultancy services to businesses across the UK, both large and small.

In his spare time he is completely mad about Amateur Theatre, belonging to St Ives Music and Drama Society (SIMADS), St Neots VAMPS and St Neots Players. He can be found directing shows, acting and singing, building sets, and engineering sound. Maybe it's easier to say he does everything except makeup and costumes!

Scott's other passion is boating, and aspires to own his own Narrowboat one day. He is a volunteer with the St John Ambulance "Waterwing" division. This is a part of St John that provides disadvantaged people with Boat Trips on the River Ouse, and he says it is very satisfying to see the pleasure that the passengers get from a day out on the water. The trips are for the elderly, the disabled, people with handicaps and disabilities, and disadvantaged children.

In terms of music and radio, he has played records since before he could read, and as a toddler used to astound visitors by playing requests. Accurately! To this day, his Mother has no idea how he did it! His favourite musical era is the 80's, with the 60's coming a close second.

What 3 words best sum you up?
Funny, Flirty, Barking Mad - oh wait - that's four! Typical accountant!

What would you do if you didn't do radio?
People are always telling me I was born to perform. I'd love to be on a West End stage, and would love to play Edna in Hairspray! If I couldn't be on the stage, I would love to be controlling the sound desk in a large theatre.

What do you love most about Huntingdonshire?
The fact that we still say it exists as a county when it doesn't! In all seriousness, I never dreamt I would still be here after all these years, so it shows it has something to have managed to keep me! I like being in a town, but at the same time being in the countryside. What more could you want.
