Remembrance Sunday 8th November 2020
A Message from the Mayor of Huntingdon, Cllr Karl Webb
This year, Remembrance Day is going to be so different to anything we have experienced before. With social distancing restrictions in place, many councils have reluctantly taken the decision to cancel their Remembrance Day services: Huntingdon Town Council has strong ties with our armed forces and wanted to ensure that we mark the day as appropriately as we can under the current circumstances.
We are saddened that we cannot invite guests or members of the community to gether at the War Memorial so we are asking that you “Remember At Home” and join us via a livestream on our website and Facebook.
I know many are placing pictures of their poppies in windows: at 11am on Sunday 8th November, I would encourage you to take a minute to remember those who went to war, many of whom did not return, during the World Wars and subsequent conflicts in the service of their country.
