Guests wanted for HCR104fm ‘Over To You’ programme

Guests Rosie Gutteridge & Alyson Chang from British Red Cross, who appeared on OTY with Norman Knapper earlier this year

Huntingdon Community Radio is now on the lookout for guests from local charities and community groups, to promote themselves for free on air throughout 2019. Over to You is our flagship community outreach programme, which focuses on a different local charitable or non-profit organisation each weekday evening between 7 and 8pm.

“We normally invite guests directly to come in and have a chat with our OTY presenters on air,” explains the show’s Senior Producer, Tara Daynes. “But there must be plenty of local groups and charities that we don’t know about, who would love the opportunity to raise their profile on the radio, so we want them to come forward and let us know so we can get them on the programme!”

Previous guests on Over To You have ranged from community interest groups, charities supporting various disabilities and animal charities to am-dram societies, museums and local interest groups. Guests can talk about their charity or group and what they do, promote any events, awareness campaigns or fundraising, and explain how people can get involved or find out more.

“I always give them full details in advance, and our presenters have a chat with them before going on air so they know exactly what to expect – and everyone says afterwards how much they enjoyed the experience,” says Tara. “The only criteria to appear on Over To You is to be a not-for-profit operating in the Huntingdonshire/Cambridgeshire area, and to be able to share their passion and enthusiasm for their good cause with our listeners!”

Anyone interested in taking part in the programme should email Tara Daynes at studio@hcrfm.co.uk for more details.
