Thank you very much for your programme. It was a great pleasure to hear HCRFM on 104.0 MHz here in Finland!
My name is Jim Solatie and I live in Espoo, Finland. I am 50 years old, married, a father of two lovely & lively kids and working with a marketing research company as a managing director. My favourite hobbies are sports and listening to foreign radio stations (DX-listening).
I work with leading media companies in Finland, including online media, print, TV and radio. Thus I find it extremely interesting to tune into foreign radio stations. Actually radio is both professionally and personally my most favourite media, the one I spend most of my time with. Radio simply reaches you everywhere, is very useful and is so much fun to listen to.
Monday, the 13th July 2020 was an exceptional day. The space weather (the ES-layer in the upper ionosphere) was active and many European FM-stations were heard in Finland, including the highlight: HCRFM! The reception was possible for a short time only, but even that made me extremely happy! It was fantastic to catch your station here in Finland!
I received your station as follows
Date: Monday, the 13th July 2020
Time: 19.00 hours British summertime
Frequency: 104.0 MHz
Radio and antenna: Perseus FM-receiver with a 12-element yagi antenna.
I have recorded your programme at 19.00 hours with the full hour station identification “Huntingdon Community Radio” (heard at 4 seconds on the enclosed mp3-clip), followed by Sky News. The station that fades in afterwards is BBC Radio 4.
It was great to catch your signal and I hope the recording is of interest. I hope you enjoy listening to the audioclip as much as I did enjoy hearing your station!
Here in Espoo we have a DX-club called EDXK (Espoon DX-kuuntelijat). We are some 25 active members. Besides our monthly meetings we organize DX-expeditions, DX-shows, we publish a DX-magazine jointly with other DX-clubs etc. If you will visit Finland one day, please visit Espoo and our club, too. You are most welcome!
