Huntingdon has been awarded Gold at the 2025 Anglia in Bloom Awards marking the eighth consecutive year the town has achieved this top standard
The accolade recognises the year-round commitment of volunteers, community groups, schools, businesses, and Huntingdon Town Council staff who work together to improve the town’s green spaces and biodiversity.
This year’s judges praised a number of projects across Huntingdon. Hinchingbrooke Country Park was noted for its diversity, including the orchard, newly planted trees, and an active apiary, with the Fireflies children’s area described as a particular highlight.
The gardens at Hinchingbrooke Hospital were recognised for their careful plant choices that provide scent and year-round interest while creating a tranquil space for staff, patients, and visitors.
The Huntingdon Community Centre was also highlighted as a much-valued local asset, with judges impressed by the range of activities it supports and the dedication of its staff and volunteers in maintaining a neat, welcoming garden.
The Coneygear Community Garden was recognised as another shining example of local involvement, bringing together a wide variety of users — from schools and community groups to adults with additional needs and volunteers supporting health and wellbeing.
David White, President of Anglia in Bloom, said: “This year’s entries have shown an incredible standard of creativity, resilience, and care for our environment. Communities across Anglia are setting an inspiring example of what can be achieved when people come together to make their communities flourish.”
Hayley Burns, Huntingdon in Bloom Committee Member added: “Achieving Gold for the eighth year running is a real testament to the hard work of our volunteers and Huntingdon Town Council staff, who put in countless hours throughout the year to make the town look its best. We’re incredibly proud of what’s been achieved together.”
