Mario is the son of Carmella and the late Dave Murdie, and the founder of local rock band Mabel and The Edge. His wife Sam is lead vocalist and the drummer is his friend Tommy McGuire. The other band member, Keanu Bradshaw, is the protegé of their manager, Matt. Mario is at loggerheads with Matt, whom he accuses of prioritising Sam’s career over that of the band. He always dreamed of achieving fame and fortune, like his Dad, but his dream is turning sour.
