Tom Askew

Tom joined the station back in 2016, as a friend, at the young age of 11 after his father, Paul Askew, took up his own show on the schedule. Tom is currently the chairman of ‘The Student Zone’ which airs every Sunday 5-7pm. If you’re at one of our many events throughout the year, you may just see Tom whizzing around working his magic with all things technical, stage and lighting. More recently, he took up his own show on a Sunday morning 2-4, The Teenies Decade in the Middle, where he plays all the hits from the 2010’s and a position in the gold award winning radio soap drama ‘Huntsford’ where he plays Ryan. Tom also won the support technician of the year award back in 2018 for his dedication to anything in or outside the studio walls.

Born and bred in Huntingdon, Tom has a passion for providing his service to the local community and loves every bit of what he does! In his free time, Tom volunteers at the Commemoration hall, just down the road from the studio, as their resident technician and he has a passion for videography, you can see some of his work on Youtube. If all else fails, you can find Tom in the evenings watching an action movie on the sofa with a cold glass of sparkling water!

You can catch Tom on Sunday evenings, when he takes to the air with some of his best pals to bring you a show by students, for students.

Follow Tom on Instagram, Twitter or Facebook to see what he’s up to in this week’s show!
