Our charity of the month is the Huntingdon MS Therapy Centre.

The Huntingdon MS Therapy Centre is located at Bradbury House, in Mayfield Road, Huntingdon.  We offer a range of complementary & alternative therapies to those with MS, other physical conditions and those who are able bodied wanting to feel better.  The Huntingdon Therapy Centre is situated behind the Olympic Gym in Huntingdon, off Mayfield Road, just 10 minutes from the centre of Huntingdon. We have a large private car park in front of the building with easy access for both abled and disabled people.

We are a small self-funded charity founded in 1985, by a small group of people with MS (Multiple Sclerosis) hoping to provide support, self-help & non-drug complementary & alternative therapies to others with MS &, later, also to those with other Neurological conditions.

In 2002, after a number of years fundraising, we moved to a new purpose built building, providing more internal space and parking – which is our current location.

Our Centre is based in Huntingdon, Cambridgeshire, & we welcome people with a diverse range of medical conditions – although we do specialise in MS. We also welcome carers & anyone just interested in feeling their best. All are welcome!

Our therapies range from Aromatherapy & Indian Head massage through to Hot Stone massage, Reflexology & Shiatsu (to mention just a few). We also offer Oxygen Therapy & general support to those in the Huntingdon, Peterborough, & Cambridge areas.

In addition, the Centre has a gym & offers a range of exercise and movement classes – all at subsidised prices (subject to membership) – as are all of our therapies. There is a cafe onsite – serving a delicious selection of light meals & other refreshments.

We also run & organise a number of social events, throughout the year, for our members to enjoy. The centre is run by a small team of staff and volunteers, who are overseen by a board of Trustees.

Our employees and volunteers understand that when you are diagnosed with a long-term illness, self-help & care becomes an integral way of life. The term ‘self-help’, in terms of our Centre, means activities & treatments that can help to keep you, both, mentally & physically fit; whilst also aiming to help you maintain a better quality of everyday living.

We believe that, “self-help is our way of action”, & we aim to provide support & services to those wishing to help themselves. Our charity functions independently, but is also part of a network of 50+ independent National MS Therapy Centres throughout the UK. The MS Society provides further MS self-help advice, information & support to those with MS.
