For the first time, the Anglia in Bloom awards ceremony was held within Huntingdon, at the Coneygear Centre, where over 120 guests from across the region were treated to an afternoon tea, as well as a visit to the Coneygear Community Garden, which won the award for Best Community Project.

Charlotte Mann, Communities Officer for Huntingdon Town Council and Coordinator for the Coneygear Community Garden said:

“We are absolutely thrilled to have been nominated for the Best Community Project 2023, let alone take home the trophy as the winning entry! I am incredibly proud of the team for their efforts and hard work that have contributed towards this prestigious award. This project has thrived because the Community came together to create something wonderful, and; come rain, shine, blazing heat, extreme winds or icy conditions – our team are there, creating something wonderful, with the Coneygear Community firmly behind us.”

Huntingdon in Bloom now eagerly await the results of their National entry to Britain In Bloom, which will be announced on Monday 23rd October. The organisers would like to thank everyone who participated in the project this year. Without the support from the local community, Huntingdon in Bloom would not be possible. Work has already begun on the 2024 campaign, so if you are interested in getting involved in Huntingdon in Bloom 2024, please contact town.council@huntingdontown.gov.uk or phone 01480 411883.
